Art Exhibit: George Stuart
Jun 1 | 10:00 am - Jun 30 | 6:00 pm
For 34 years, George worked for Pacific Gas and Electric. He married Carol in 1984. During their years together, they lived in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Stockton, CA. Upon George’s retirement in 1993 he held the position of Superintendent, and authored the 500KV Substation Electric Operations Manual. In 2001, George and Carol moved to Dolores after spending some time living in AZ.
George’s painting began in 1983. He was a self-taught artist, and used both oil and acrylic paint. Carol always encouraged George and at times gave him ideas of what he might wish to paint.
In addition to George’s artistic creations, he enjoyed a good game of golf. His portrait on display shows George in his golfing attire. He won many trophies and played well at many well-known golf courses. For many years George organized the PG&E golf tournaments.
