Art Exhibit: Cami Lange
Oct 4 | 10:00 am - Oct 31 | 6:00 pm
Cami Lange is a lifelong resident of Colorado and grew up locally in Cortez. She attended Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. Cami moved back to Cortez after getting her degree because she has always held a deep appreciation for the four corners area.
She grew up in a family who hunted for meat and butchered those animals themselves at home, so she grew fond of anatomy at a very young age–bones especially. She has always collected a number of different oddities: skulls, antlers, vertebrae, horse hooves, alligator heads, preserved bats in jars, feet from ducks and grouse and turkeys, you name it. Anything dead that she can feasibly pack out of the forest is going home with her. Anything strange found in an antique or thrift store is excitedly toted to the checkout.
All things macabre and unearthly are a source of inspiration for Cami, both in her collections and in her art.
