Roaring Readers is an after-school program for 4th & 5th graders that begins in September each year.
Each Roaring Readers group meets every other Wednesday at the Dolores Public Library from 3:30 – 5:00 pm.
This program is for children who love books and are motivated to learn. It is not a remedial reading program. Please remind your child that this program is a privilege. The library does not have the staff or time to deal with discipline interruptions as child care is not our role. It is intended to provide the children in the community with a fun learning experience at the library. We look forward to a fun and rewarding year with your child!
Although the program is free for all students, we do ask parents to help provide snacks. There will be a snack signup list. Also, if you would love to volunteer to help, you are welcome. Kathie Butler, the Children’s Librarian, will meet the students at school on Wednesdays at 3:35. We will walk to the library. Please pick your child up at 5:00 at the library.
You can stop by the library any time during open hours to enroll your child in the Roaring Readers program. We also ask you to sign permission for taking pictures/videos to be used by the library or the local newspaper. If you do not want your child photographed it is your responsibility to let the news editor know your wishes.
